Everything I Know About the Enneagram
I Learned from My Mother and Father
On Saturday, June 27 at 10:00 AM, IEA/SoCal presents its first "Salon!"
IEA/SoCal Salons are designed to be social, informal, interactive and fun, while at the same time fostering educational and intelligent conversation about the insights into our relationships that the Enneagram provides.
We've all just completed the season in which we honor our mothers and fathers with their own special days. So why not use this as an opportunity to explore the insights the Enneagram provides into our relationships with Mom and Dad?
- Do you have a special affection for, and insight into, people of a particular Enneatype? Perhaps they remind you of a special relationship you had with one of your parents!
- When is an Enneagram "wing" not just a wing, but a special talent and insight that complements and strengthens your natural Enneatype? Could your wing also be an adaptive skill you honed in learning to communicate more effectively with a parent?
- Have you never gotten around to nurturing your "Self-Preservation" instinct? Maybe it has to do with all of the vitamins and home remedies to which you were subjected as a child!
- Have you shared with your own son or daughter your own, distinctive insight into the gifts and challenges of a "Social" instinct?
There's no need to schedule a psychotherapy session before you come to our Salon—all you need to do is RSVP to daj@iea-socal.org, so we know how many attendees to expect! And come prepared to have fun, and to participate in a warm and appreciative sharing of the insights into the parent-child relationship that the Enneagram provides!
Our Salon will commence promptly at 10:00 AM, at which time people can order coffee, juice, and/or a late breakfast. We'll dedicate the first 30 minutes to getting some caffeine, sugar and/or protein into our systems, and catching up with our Enneagram friends and neighbors. Then we'll ease into our moderated, highly interactive conversation. You can feel free to share your own experiences and insights, and just listen and learn about the Enneagram—both beginners and experts are welcome!. The Salon is free, as is parking—you just pay for what you eat and drink. Just ask for the IEA/SoCal group when you arrive.
