The Holidays & Instinctual Subtypes

The holiday season is fast approaching, and what better time to discuss the Enneagram and our Instinctual Subtypes as we prepare to attend work parties and family gatherings?

There's no better time; the time is now! So before you head for the egg nog and the turkey (or Tofurkey, for those of more delicate sensibilities), we suggest that you consider the following possibilities:

  • Do the holidays represent an opportunity to return to treasured traditions, and eat and smell those favorite foods and beverages of years gone by?
  • Are the holidays a festive time for decorating your environment, and celebrating special times and traditions in your own, special home?
  • Or are the holidays a chance to re-connect with special relatives with whom you have intimate conversations all too rarely?
  • Do the holidays represent the chance to give specials gifts to those special friends and family members?
  • Or are the holidays an opportunity to gather all of your friends and family together and celebrate the special community that is an essential part of your life?
  • Are the holidays another opportunity to renew your commitment to remembering the hungry and homeless with a special gift of your time and/or resources?

The answers to these questions will illustrate the importance of Instinctual Subtypes in our lives and relationships. In addition, they'll help us appreciate the different but complementary ways in which we all value and share celebratory events. So please join us for a lively, interactive discussion of the holidays and the different ways in which we all contribute to them. If you attended Beatrice Chestnut's presentation on Instinctual Subtypes, you'll be prepared to jump into the discussion. But even if you weren't able to join us last week, you'll leave with a new appreciation and understanding of Instinctual Subtypes and their relevance in our lives.

With Coco's $4.99 Breakfast Deals, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy an inexpensive, hearty meal and connect with fellow Enneagram enthusiasts, while participating in our growing IEA/SoCal community! The event is free for Members, with a $10 suggested fee for non-Members. But suggested fees are less important to us than making you a part of our Enneagram community! Join us whether you're a member or not, and whether $10 is in your budget or not—all are welcome!

RSVP Marissa at marissa@iea-socal.org, or on Facebook by Friday, November 20 so we can save you a seat! We look forward to seeing you (and your Instincts)!
